Overview
Farranlea Hall is a privately run development especially designed and built for students. All apartments are of superior design and all bedrooms are en-suite. Our complex is located between Dennehy’s Cross and Victoria Cross in Cork City and is within a 5 minute walk to UCC main campus and the Mardyke Arena. MTU main campus is only a 10 minute bus journey away with a no 205 bus stop located just beside our complex.
Students can choose to live in 3, 4, 5 or 6-bed apartments subject to availability.

Each Apartment Comprises of:
Bedrooms
All bedrooms are fully furnished with a bed and mattress (single or double), a study desk, a desk chair, a desk lamp, bookshelves, sizeable built in storage units, notice boards and en-suite bathrooms. Each apartment is fitted with a secure access system for entry and there is a separate key for bedroom access. Residents provide their own bed linen, duvet, pillows and towels.

Kitchen / Living Room
Each apartment has a fully fitted spacious kitchen/living room consisting of an electric hob/oven, a kettle, a toaster, a microwave, a fridge freezer, attractive built in units, delph and cutlery, a vacuum cleaner, an iron and ironing board, a table and chairs, seats and couches and a Smart TV with remote control.

Rates per person
Booking Deposit: €300.00
Single Bed En-suite Room Rent: €7,628.00
or
Double Bed En-suite Room Rent: €8,047.00 (single occupancy room)
Utilities Advance: €900.00
First Year Cancellations
In the event of a cancellation on or before 19th August 2025, €200.00 of the Booking Deposit is refundable. There will be no Booking Deposit refund for cancellations made after 19th August 2025 – all cancellations must be made in writing or by email.
Non – First Year Cancellations
In the event of a cancellation on or before 30th June 2025, €150.00 of the Booking Deposit is refundable. There will be no Booking Deposit refund for cancellations made after 30th June 2025 – all cancellations must be made in writing or by email.
Re-Booking
Current Residents will be advised by email of their opportunity to rebook for the following academic year 2 weeks prior to bookings becoming open to non-Residents. We advise all our Residents to rebook early in order to avoid disappointment.

What are Reception opening hours?
Reception is open from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays. Our telephone number is +353 21 4817900 or dial 100 from the internal apartment phones.
Is there security on site?
Yes, we have residential Security Wardens that are on duty from 6pm to 9am Monday to Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday as well as every Bank Holiday. You can phone The Wardens on +353 21 4817904 or +353 87 9268038 or call in person to Apt 4 in Block A.
Is there car parking?
Yes, we have secure basement parking spaces available. Please contact Reception for details.
How far is it to UCC?
It is a 5 minute walk to UCC main campus.
How far is it to MTU?
It is a 10 minute bus journey to MTU main campus. You can get the No. 205 bus at a stop just around the corner from our complex on Model Farm Road.
Is there a shop nearby?
Yes, there is a Tesco Express across the road and Wilton Shopping Centre is only a 15 minute walk away.
How far is the Mardyke Arena?
The UCC Mardyke Arena is only a 5 minute walk away.
Is smoking allowed?
No, smoking and vaping are forbidden everywhere inside our 2 complex buildings. We have smoke detectors fitted throughout our complex.
Where can I put my bike?
All bicycles can be locked on bicycle racks located in the secure gated car parks.
Is there a bus stop nearby?
Yes, the No. 201, No. 208, No. 220 & No. 233 all stop right outside our main gate. Timetables are available to download under our useful links section. The 205 bus stops just around the corner from our complex on Model Farm Road.
How do we get to the bus or train station?
You can get the No. 233 bus outside Farranlea Hall direct to the bus station or you can get the No. 208 bus to Patrick Street which is only a 5 minute walk from the bus station. If getting a train, you should get the No. 205 bus which stops at Kent Train Station.
Are credit cards accepted?
No. The methods of payment that we accept are cheque, bank transfer or cash paid at Reception only.
How do we get to Farranlea Hall from the airport?
You have two options
a) You can get a Taxi direct costing approximately €25.00.
b) You can get a bus into the city centre for approximately €6.00 – €9.00 and then the No. 208 bus from Patrick Street to Farranlea Hall for €2.30.
What if I vacate my room early?
The security deposit will not be refunded if a student decides to leave before the period of residence is complete.
Can I deduct booking deposit from rent payment?
No, deposit and rent are two separate payments.
What is the size of a single bed?
W: 90cm, L: 190cm.
What is the size of a double bed?
W: 140cm, L: 190cm.
Is there a TV in the apartment?
There is a Smart TV in the living room of all our apartments. There are TV sockets in all bedrooms so you can have your own TV.
Do I have my own bathroom?
Yes, each student has their own bathroom and bedroom with only the kitchen and living area shared amongst the Residents of each apartment.
